Our video installation Kiss My Nauman will feature in the exhibition Thank You For The Music at the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, Finland from 20 January to 17 June 2012.
Curated by Kati Kivinen & Arja Miller, this thematic exhibition that explores the relationship between contemporary art and popular music, examining how music, or the experience of music, appears in the actions of the artist or the music lover, the fan. Music appears in the works either as a thematic source of inspiration or as a soundtrack that supports or challenges the visual material. Some of the featured artists use the aesthetic of music videos as a starting point for their own work, others explore their themes by employing a style that resembles music videos, or makes ironic or analytical references to the genre.
We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the inaugural Samsung Art+ Prize alongside Neil Cummings, Aura Satz, Doug Fishbone, Hiraki Sawa, Semiconductor, Torsten Lauschmann, Erika Tan, Lucky PDF, Thomson and Craighead.
Our series of films commissioned by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds to accompany the re-issue of the band’s catalogue will be screened at Cinecity, the Brighton Film Festival, this December.
File under Sacred Music features in 'to pay respect to the generosity of the three-minute punk-rock song', the current exhibition at Crate Space in Margate. Curated by Toby Huddlestone, the show runs until 18 December.
From 10 November - 17 December 2011 we will be showing Romeo Echo Delta (Version A) at Kate MacGarry. Version B was broadcast this Halloween on BBC Radio Merseyside, after Version A was rejected by the BBC editorial policy board, who deemed it too realistic and likely to induce panic in their listeners.
This Halloween our new audio project ROMEO ECHO DELTA will be broadcast by BBC Radio Merseyside, accompanied by an ominous red light in the night sky above Birkenhead. Listen live on BBC Radio Merseyside 95.8fm from 10.30pm on 31 October.
On 1st October we will present Soon, a monumental new installation in Toronto for Nuit Blanche 2011 with an original soundtrack by Scanner.
In November, File under Sacred Music will be included in the exhibition Was I there? at Peter Scott Gallery, alongside work by Juneau Projects and Jamie Shovlin together with film footage, memorabilia and gig posters from the 70s and 80s.
On 11 October we'll be speaking at You Are In Control, an international conference for 'creatives in the digital world' taking place in Reykjavik, Iceland. This year the conference will take place in the brand new Harpa concert hall, where we will also be showing some of our films.
